Certainly, residents are entitled to restoration of their normal lives and homes and to any extent possible the restoration of the villages and towns that are home to them. Secondly, there is little doubt in my mind as to the importance of restoring damaged artifacts and documents to any extent possible. There is no justification to abandon history of any culture. It is sad that so much has been lost, including lives of those who endeavored to protect these priceless records.
